This course focuses on the structure and properties of rational numbers, equivalent representations of numbers, operations and problem solving with rational numbers, number theory, measurement techniques, geometric terminology, properties and relationships, transformational geometry, algebraic thinking, statistical methods for collecting, organizing and displaying data, and an introduction to probability.

Multiply and divide rational numbers;
Use division and model and solve real world problems;
Convert fractions to decimals;
Expand and simplify expressions;
Solve multi-step real-world problems with rational numbers;
Use mental computation to estimate whether computations are accurate;
Identify and apply the sequence of operations to solve algebraic equations;
Graph the solution set of an inequality;
Compute unit rates with ratios of fractions; and
Use proportional relationships and percentages to solve multi-step ratio problems.
