At the end of this course students will be able to: Explore communication systems and discuss the evolution of communication systems. Describe the Universal Systems Model and the Communication Systems Model. Describe and use geographical information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and telecommunication devices. Explore basic audio equipment, record audio, and use audio editing software. Explore basic video equipment, produce video, and use video editing software. Familiarize yourself with production process and produce a video. Explore the design characteristics of digital media. Explore the use of multimedia. Create an interactive multimedia presentation. In order to be successful in our program, it is important for the student to remain in constant communication with the online instructor. The online instructor will be communicating with the student 1-2 times per week. Communication between the student and online instructor will be phone, email, texting, and/or discussion boards. Online instructors provide families with their weekly office hours and My Virtual Academy is open Monday – Thursday from 8 AM – 8 PM, Friday from 8 AM – 4 PM and Saturday from 8AM – 2 PM with staff available to answer questions/concerns. Messages received after hours will be returned the next school day. Parents/Guardians/Students will have access to the curriculum and gradebook 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
