Course Description:
Civics teaches students about their individual rights as citizens. To understand the responsibilities that come with this privilege, Civics focuses on the following central themes: Principles of Democracy, Foundations of American Government, Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens, State and Local Government, The Political Process and Challenges in Today's World. While similar to an American Government class, this class will focus less on the structure of government and more on the impact of the individual, especially at the local and state levels of government.
